Cricut Cards

I’m not the most crafty person in the world, but sometimes I try. Sometimes.

I’ve never been a scrapbooker, but when I was surprised at Christmas with every scrapbooker’s dream, a Cricut , I decided I needed to do something with it…so I decided to make cards. Surprise, surprise–I love it! Here are a few examples of cards I have made so far. (A Cricut is a machine that allows you to cut out letters and shapes in many different sizes using whatever paper you want. It’s pretty awesome.)

(I made this card with my Sister-In-Law’s cartridge called Walk In My Garden. It is a good one. She may post about it soon on her blog. VanillJoy.com .)

I’ve started getting a lot of handmade cards and want to find a good way to display them. I’ll have to think about it…

I Just Need to Carry On!

I saw this poster months ago and immediately loved it. I saw it again today and its simple, straight forward message struck me. I’ve been such a whiner (see the post from yesterday) and I just need to keep calm and carry on. I might just order the poster to hang in my house as a constant reminder to not wallow in the ugly-house blues but just move on and get it done! I need to cowboy up!

I also love this poster because of the history behind it. The originals were printed in England during World War II when the British were facing invasion/bombing/other really bad things. If this message helped during those perilously bad times, it can help me! Plus it looks sweet.

(After reading what I just wrote it sounds like I think my life is horrible or something. It really isn’t, and I know that. I am just a WHINER!)

(The poster can be found in sfgirlbybay etsy store .)

I’m Back!

Hey friends! I’m back and boy did I have some fun. It is so nice to get out and have a good ol’ vacation once in a while. San Francisco was fabulous…beautiful weather, great places to shop, awesome things to do…however the fog smothered the fireworks. (Favorite quote from the trip: "That was the best fireworks show I’ve ever heard.") I have a lot of pictures I am excited to share with you, so once I find some time to download them I’ll post more about the trip!

For now I’ll just leave with a look at some Franciscan dinnerware I found on KSL.com. Isn’t it beautiful? I think it is fun that it comes with some extras like a candle holder and gravy boat. Click here to see the post on KSL.com.

Reel Lawn Mower

When my husband and I moved into our townhome we started to dread having to buy big things for our tiny yard. For example, we didn’t actually buy a snow shovel until March. We also didn’t want to buy a big lawn mower for our patch of grass that is about the equivalent of a small living room. So we decided to buy a real lawn mower…or I mean a reel lawn mower. It is awesome. We don’t have to worry about the engine starting, no filling up the gas tank, no loud noises. It mows our lawn very well (sometimes it misses some long pieces, but over all it is great), it makes us have just a bit of a work out (I really need it!), and no worries about leaking gas as I carry it through my house and into my garage (it is the shortest route, I swear). But the best part is that it looks great when it is sitting it the garage. It’s small and sweet.

Desk on KSL.com

I’ve been thinking about getting a roll top desk for my front entry way. It would be nice to have a place to organize papers…and it would be nice to have a convenient way to hid them when (not if) they get messy. However, a desk like this would be kid of cool if the rest of the room had furniture that was a bit more understated.

Found on KSL.com , it can be yours for $200.
